Initial CAD Design

Having created my initial concept sketches I decided to create and develop one of the designs through CAD / Solidworks. Creating this design on Solidworks allowed me to develop the areas I feel needing addressing. One area I developed was the placement of the grips, I felt that multiple grips along the top of the handle would give the user more comfort and grip when rotating the razor during a shave. Also the ergonomic shape of the handle offers the customer with a product that will be comfortable to hold.

Some of the areas I’m not so happy with is the design of the razor head and handle shape. The razor head is fixed and cannot pivot, meaning it would not follow the contours of the customers face. This could result in an uncomfortable shave, irritating the customer’s skin. In regards to the handle I feel it looks very chunky and unpleasant to look at, this is an area I am going to address through CAD and attempt to change to see if the changing of the handle shape can affect the aesthetics of the product for the better.
