Developing Handle Design

Having previously created my initial sketch on Solidworks I began to develop the handle of that design as I was not 100% happy with the shape and style of it. Previously I change the shape slightly and thinned the handle, this made a slight improvement, however the handle still seemed rather thick and had some unnecessary curves. As a result of this I decided to quickly change the design through using Solidworks and try to eliminate the extravagant curves and simplify the design. I was successful in doing this and I added the grips to see how the product would look if produced as a final design, (see images below) but I still wasn’t happy with the overall shape of the handle. As a result I decided to go back to the beginning and attempt to create a design with a straighter handle to see how this would look.
I went through the same process of creating the handle through Solidworks using the Lofted Boss / Base feature (more information can be found under the Solidworks tab). This feature allowed me to create a number of different shapes on different planes to create the final handle design; by doing this I could gradually change the handle design until I was happy with the overall design and shape. as seen below, I attempted to create a more straight and simple design, focusing on the handle shape as I wanted to get this area correct before moving on and creating the rest of the handle.
I am very pleased with the straight design and feel this is a good step to allow me to move forward and begin to develop this design through Solidworks. Before I go any further with Solidworks I would like to begin to create some sketches in regards to the rest of the razor design so that when I begin to create the product on Solidworks I am focused and know the various parts I need to create.
