Developed Handle Design

When developing the handle of the razor my initial design on Solidworks and design sketches had a rounded underside to the razor handle. This was fine, however after analysing the design and thinking about ergonomics I decided to make the underside of the handle Concave, (insert image explaining concave and a screenshot of the underside of the handle) this allows for the users fingers to grip the underside of the handle easier allowing for better control when using the product.

Another feature I developed was the area where the razor head attaches to. Whilst looking at the previous handle design I could see how this area had a slight bend. This would function ok, however there would be pressure placed on the users wrists due to the angle they have to hold the razor at when shaving. As a result of this I altered the curved neck so that it would provide a better angle when shaving whilst the users wrists is kept in a natural position, making the shave more comfortable.

For more information on how this part, and all the other parts where created, visit the Developed Solidworks Design page or the Initial Solidworks Design page.
